
Rebecca is a final year PhD researcher at The University of Sydney, her work is focused on value alignment of LLMs and GAIs. Rebecca spent a year at Google Research in the Ethical AI team and Responsible AI division. She has received scholarships from MIT and Stanford to participate in AI and technology events. She is a Managing Editor for “The AI Ethics Journal” founded at UCLA and supported by several elite universities in the USA. In April 2023, Rebecca organised and Chaired a large multi-disciplinary conference called ChatLLM23 at The University of Sydney focussed on the risks, challenges, and ethical impacts of GAIs. Rebecca also the founded the global group “PhD Students in AI Ethics” which consists of +550 members. In 2020 she was listed on the “100 brilliant women in AI ethics” by Lighthouse 3. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Communication, and a Master’s by Research. In 2022 she was awarded the “Faculty of Science Postgraduate Research Prize for Leadership” by the University of Sydney.
